OUT OF BOUNDS 2016 - IV Edizione

FESTIVAL DEL CINEMA E DEL CORTO - FREE ENTRY

L’Ass. Gruppo Farfa Cinema Sociale Pugliese, propone la 4^ edizione del Festival del Cinema e del cortometraggio “Out of Bounds” 2016.

L’evento di premiazione si terrà a Molfetta, nella suggestiva cornice della Fabbrica di San Domenico, nella serata di sabato 8 ottobre e presenterà un concorso per cortometraggi con una giuria di qualità; sarà preceduta da due giornate di proiezioni, workshop e incontri.
Il titolo “Out of Bounds” fa riferimento al passaggio degli americani durante la Seconda guerra mondiale che così marchiavano le strade e i quartieri rischiosi, interdetti ai loro soldati. Nelle prime due edizioni, 2013 e 2014, il cinema all’aperto si è svolto in due piazze della città di Molfetta, Piazza San Michele e Piazza delle Erbe, nei pressi delle zone ancora oggi giudicate da molti ‘out of bounds’. La scelta delle piazze è legata alla vocazione sociale del Gruppo Farfa, intesa a favorire la fruizione, da parte degli abitanti di questi quartieri, di un certo cinema ‘di qualità’.
“Out of Bounds” III e IV edizione cambia formula e presenta “La Notte dei corti”, ospitando alcune tra le migliori produzioni di cortometraggio degli ultimi anni, scelte tra più di 900 titoli ufficialmente iscritti al concorso, alcuni dei quali pugliesi e associando le attività della rassegna a workshop e laboratori per ragazzi, per aprire all’attiva partecipazione dei più giovani un universo da cui solitamente sono ‘interdetti’, “Out of Bounds”, in quanto subordinati al solo ruolo di passivi fruitori.

Out of Bounds is an independent event, in Molfetta, southern Italy.

In the 1945 the U.S. army landed in the south of Italy to liberate it and they came also through Molfetta, our city. During their passage the allies marked down few street quarters as "OUT OF BOUNDS" because of the "social dangerousness" of the people who lived there. In the first two editions, 2013 and 2014, our festival was held in two squares, Piazza San Michele and Piazza delle Erbe, near the areas still considered by many "out of bounds". The choice of an open air cinema in these squares is related to our social vocational, aimed at encouraging the use and and enjoyment of a certain 'quality cinema'. The 2015 edition was held in the cloister of the church of San Domenico in the harbor area of the city. 
During Out of Bounds events participate about one thousand visitors each year.

The open-air cinema “Out Of Bounds” is run by filmmakers and aims to celebrate the very best in indie and encourage all aspects of independent film making. It focuses on the unconventional, the unusual, the underground, the intuitive, the innovative and the true.
